Welcome to Radiantly Human!
Two years into a coaching career, I find myself bursting at the seams with insights and stories about the human condition. It is high time I started sharing my learnings.
To be honest, it has actually been high time for a while. My own life outside of coaching has offered me plenty of grist for the mill; over the past decade it seems to have been a laboratory for many of the shifts we are experiencing as a collective. It was a quest for true love that launched me into an intense journey of healing and transformation–and with it came divorce, identity shifts, career pivots, sabbaticals, spiritual awakening. The work continues, but I feel like I can come up for air now.
I can only wish I’d had the strength to share my journey as it unfolded, but I had to hunker down and shield myself. I had to sit with my pain and my questions, processing my discoveries for hours on end. I had little energy left to write anything for public consumption. But it’s also true that my fears got the better of me–fears of looking like a hot mess, fears of losing even more friends and connections than I already had, fears of hurting someone out there with half-baked ideas.
I’m trying to change all of that now, since I’ve gotten multiple indications that I must share my learnings. Hence, this newsletter!
Why “Radiantly Human”?
The phrase “Radiantly Human'' arose in my consciousness a while ago, but I wasn’t sure what it meant. Clarity has arrived in bits and pieces alongside my own psychospiritual growth, but I expect an even deeper understanding will emerge as I write.
At the present moment, I use “Radiantly Human” to describe a whole and integrated human, one not limited by her mind but who flows with courage and grace—a person of purity and power who stands in her truth and is ablaze with life. If you meet her, you cannot fail to notice her incredible presence and confidence. She is a vibrant being who knows that her true nature is divine. At the same time, she brings her divinity into the world—she is a fully-embodied force of nature who has the welfare of all beings in her heart.
In short, it is a way of being that is fully human, and as such, is not just an aspirational ideal.
(Btw, I use “she” only as a matter of convenience. This newsletter is for all humans.)
What you can expect
Despite the mystical orientation, the goals of this newsletter are entirely practical, namely to help you thrive and be well.
The scope extends beyond individual well-being. How can we create workplaces, communities, cultures, and nations that are whole and flourishing as well? What can the West learn from the East, and vice versa? How can we preserve and enhance all that is sacred and beautiful? How do we navigate the deluge of misinformation in the self-help world and recognize the voices of wisdom that aren’t looking to make a quick buck or two?
As someone who embodies a blend of seemingly opposing perspectives—science and spirituality, the traditional and the modern, the East and the West—I feel called to reflect on these larger questions and some of my thinking will make its way into this newsletter. My aim is to spark fruitful discussion as we define the lifestyles and systems of the future.
Thank you for reading
